Grahams history in the TOC world dates back to 1990 where he started work at Ionics instruments in the UK. Ionics later became Sievers Analytical instruments & with that Graham became the EMEA Manager until 2006. In his time at Sievers instruments, Graham developed a deep understanding of TOC instrumentation & TOC standards & has stayed in the TOC standards world ever since.
The core products of Altus Science are independent, ISO 17025 & ISO 17034 Accredited CRMs, for all makes of TOC analyser. As well as this, Altus have a range of consumable items for TOC analysers such as UV Lamps & Reagents. For TOC Cleaning Validation, Altus offer Certified Low TOC Vials, Swabs & Coupons
Altus Science began trading in 2012 and, while providing customers with CRMs, also invested in building and implementing a quality management system (QMS). Altus were successfully assessed by UKAS, and audited to both ISO 17025 and ISO Guide 34 in July 2013, making them one of the pioneers in terms of Accredited TOC Standards, competitors have since followed suit. In March 2018 Altus were audited to the new ISO standard, ISO 17034.
Altus Science have seen continued growth since their inception in 2012 & now operate in over 50 countries serving 1000’s of TOC instruments. Their aim is to be considered as the most internationally trusted organisation and provider of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) to the Life Science industry and support customers on best practise in terms of Analytical Analysis.
Being a privately owned company with no ties to any instrument manufacturer, Altus are independent. The sole focus of an independent CRM provider, is to manufacture the highest quality CRM without any conflict of interest. Using independent, third-party CRMs ensures that calibration or verification is carried out using a completely impartial body, rather than the instrument manufacturer (first-party) or the customer (second-party/self prepared standards), giving full confidence in the process and results.
AccuTOC EQA offers laboratories the opportunity to test the performance of their TOC (Total Organic Carbon) analyser at levels below 1000ppb TOC.
EQA, sometimes referred to as Proficiency Testing (PT), is an important aspect of any laboratory operation. EQA provides a means of assessing analytical performance against other laboratories using the same (or similar) method and instrument.
EQA is designed to help monitor laboratory performance using 'blind' samples, analysed as if they were product samples. EQA results are submitted to the scheme organiser for statistical analysis; each individual laboratory will then receive a report, anonymously comparing their performance to other participants around the world.
Ongoing monitoring of EQA performance using an effective EQA scheme like AccuTOC can help to reduce equipment/laboratory errors, Initiate and evaluate corrective actions and ultimately produce accurate test results.
A unique Laboratory reference ensures each participant’s data remains anonymous throughout the summary report.
